Our Mission statement expresses our understanding of God’s call to us. It arises
out of our praying, listening and sharing together as God’s people in St Margaret’s
URC. As apart of the Reformed tradition, our Mission Statement is understood in terms
of the biblical witness.
We believe that God is constantly doing new things in our midst, and desire to be
a part of that life-bringing work.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.
We believe that through Jesus Christ, God has uniquely revealed his saving love available
for all people.
For God so loved the world that he gave
his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life.
We believe that we are drawn together in a living fellowship with Jesus Christ expressed
in our worship and mutual fellowship.
Though we are many we are one body
in union with Christ and we are all joined to each other
as different parts of one body.
We believe that we are called by God to lead others to Jesus Christ, and that we
are equipped for this work by the gift of the Holy Spirit.
You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;
and you will be my witnesses
in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the ends of the earth.
DEVELOPMENT OF MISSION STATEMENT

Christ, and to be better equipped to help those outside church to know of God’s love
for all people.
We want to see our fellowship grow in its relationship with one another through the
action of the Holy Spirit; to build effective relationships with those beyond St
Margaret’s; and to seek to provide a framework for living in a world of increasing
We want to see our congregation and individual members equipped to share the Good
News of Jesus Christ.
