MISSION STATEMENT

Learning, Living and Leading with Jesus Christ

Our Mission statement expresses our understanding of God’s call to us. It arises out of our praying, listening and sharing together as God’s people in St Margaret’s URC. As apart of the Reformed tradition, our Mission Statement is understood in terms of the biblical witness.

See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness

and streams in the wasteland.

                                                                                                    Isaiah 43:19

For God so loved the world that he gave

his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him

shall not perish but have eternal life.

                                                                                                        John 3:16

Though we are many we are one body

in union with Christ and we are all joined to each other

as different parts of one body.

                                                                                                       Romans 12:5

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you;

and you will be my witnesses

in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,

and to the ends of the earth.

                                                                                                       Acts 1:8

DEVELOPMENT OF MISSION STATEMENT

LEARNING

We want to see all members grow in their relationship with each other through Jesus Christ, and to be better equipped to help those outside church to know of God’s love for all people.

LIVING

We want to see our fellowship grow in its relationship with one another through the action of the Holy Spirit; to build effective relationships with those beyond St Margaret’s; and to seek to provide a framework for living in a world of increasing complexity.

LEADING

We want to see our congregation and individual members equipped to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
